Telecommunications Accountant

Central Scott Telephone and Subsidiaries is seeking an Accountant for its Accounting/Finance department located in Eldridge, IA.  The Accountant will assist the Assistant Controller and the CFO in the day to day accounting activities. The Accounting/Finance department supports the operations of Central Scott Telephone in Eldridge, IA, Cuba City Telephone and Belmont Telephone in WI, as well as CLEC operations in the Quad Cities IA/IL and Dubuque, IA.
Job Functions:
•  Coding and processing of Accounts Payable
•  Preparation of Payroll for both the Iowa and Wisconsin companies
•  Assist with required Regulatory filings
•  Compilation of Data for corporate office and regulatory agencies
•  Assist with annual budget preparation and forecast adjustments
•  Assist with annual financial audit

•  Other assignments as needed

•  Two or four year degree in Accounting or related business field required
•  Strong working knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles is essential
•  Experience with telecommunications and broadband services preferred
•  2+ years of experience in an accounting role
•  Proficient with Microsoft Office applications

•  Ability and willingness to learn proprietary software

•  Excellent attention to detail
•  Presents a positive and professional image
•  Ability to effectively manage time and prioritize work
•  Communicate with customers and coworkers in a courteous and professional manner
