Assistant Controller
Central Scott Telephone

Central Scott Telephone and Subsidiaries is seeking an Assistant Controller for its Accounting/Finance department located in Eldridge, IA.  
Eldridge is located just north of the Quad Cities metro-area offering access to amenities often missing in a small-town environment.
 
This position will be training with the current Assistant Controller who is retiring in 2022. This role reports directly to the CFO who has been with Central Scott Telephone since 1998. In this role you will support the operations of Central Scott Telephone in Eldridge, IA, Cuba City Telephone and Belmont Telephone in WI, as well as CLEC operations in the Quad Cities of Iowa and Illinois and Dubuque, IA.
 
Job Functions:
  • Assist with the preparation of Financial Statements and related analysis
  • Regulatory filings with State and National government bodies
  • Maintenance and reconciliation of general ledger accounts, making appropriate adjustments on a timely basis
  • Prepare supporting schedules and explanations for external auditors
  • Compilation of Data for corporate office and regulatory agencies
  • Assist with annual budget preparation, forecast adjustments and annual financial audit
  • Supervise accounts payable and payroll functions to insure accurate processing
  • Other assignments as needed
 
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related business field required
  • Strong working knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles is essential
  • CPA license or advanced degree preferred
  • Experience with telecommunications and broadband services preferred
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in an accounting role preferred
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications

Compensation:
  • Commensurate with prior experience and in the range of $75,000 to $90,000 annually
