Liberty Communications - West Liberty, IA

Responsible for daily, weekly and monthly accounting functions for the company. Prepare monthly billing, process payroll and taxes, and prepare journal entries and assist with monthly financial closes. Also involved in preparing regulatory reports and general ledger account maintenance and analysis.

Although there is occasional opportunity for overtime, the current working schedule is M-F 7:30am – 4:30pm.

• Ownership of daily accounting functions, including cash balancing and A/P.
• Prepare monthly CABS and miscellaneous billings.
• Process bi-weekly payroll and associated taxes.
• Prepare, reconcile & maintain account analysis for some general ledger accounts.
• Active involvement in monthly financial closes, including journal entry preparation.
• Regulatory Reports preparation.
• Assist with Asset Manager and Work Order closings.
• Special projects/other miscellaneous and departmental-related duties as assigned.
• Attend scheduled corporate training and meetings
• Participate in policy development and identify department goals, plans, guidelines, and procedures

• Keeps abreast of accounting developments in the telecom field and Liberty initiatives and projects requiring accounting skills and resources

• Associates degree in Accounting required (Bachelor degree preferred) and a minimum 2 years of equivalent of relevant work experience
• Accounting Software Experience Required and proficient in Microsoft Excel
• Ability to thrive in a collaborative work environment
• Experience with computers and advanced PC skills with Microsoft Office Software products including Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook.
• Self-motivated, detail oriented and organized individual.
• Proven attendance and dependability and an ability/desire to learn quickly.
• Live within exchange areas served or within one hour from exchange
