Combination Technician
Modern Cooperative Telephone Company

• Install, maintain and service telecommunications fiber optical and copper plant and equipment.  Including but not limited to installation of fiber, inside wiring, routers and network terminals.
• Locating and exposing of buried fiber optical and copper facilities.  Perform maintenance and splicing as needed.
• Construction and maintenance of new and existing fiber facilities.
• Installation and configuration of Key systems (KSU).
• Report and perform work in a safe and timely manner
• Positive attitude and professional demeanor with excellent listening, verbal and written skills, especially when dealing with customers.
• Work independently in the field with attention to details.
• A good driving record, able to work outdoors in all weather conditions and the ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Maintaining company grounds and buildings.
• Ability to operate and work on service equipment.
• Handle confidential information appropriately.

• FTTH and Fusion fiber splicing.
• Utilizing fiber test equipment (OTDR, light and power meter).
• Backhoe and vibratory plow.
• Knowledge of digital switch technologies, Ribbon CS1500, Adtran, APMax, Cisco, Fujitsu, etc.

• Individual would be required to be on call nights, weekends and holidays on a rotational basis with other employees.
• Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) required for company insurance qualifications.
• Valid Iowa driver’s license is required.
