Combination Technician
GRM Networks

GRM Networks is looking for a motivated, energetic Combination Technician for our Corydon, Iowa location. Duties required of this position are varied, including, but not limited to: setting up and maintaining internet and phone service and data networks; splicing, troubleshooting and provisioning fiber-to-the-home equipment; plowing fiber drops and digging with a shovel or backhoe; installing business phone systems; locating and marking buried cable; installing wiring in homes and businesses; and other duties as assigned.
 
Wages
Wages start at $21.62 per hour and up depending on experience, with significant raises every 6 months. Employees who start at $21.62 will make over $26 per hour within one year and over $30 per hour within two years.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • must understand and display skills with personal and laptop computers including various Windows and Mac operating systems, and internet usage and/or set-up
  • must understand AC/DC power, electricity, and electronics
  • must be able to troubleshoot basic data networks and use technical test equipment
  • must be highly motivated and driven to provide exceptional customer service
  • must possess good communication skills with the ability to communicate with the public and fellow employees in a pleasant and business-like manner, and the ability to handle upset customers while displaying patience and understanding
  • must be able to maintain accurate records, meet deadlines and pay close attention to detail
  • must be able to maintain a positive attitude, and good attendance and appearance
  • must be able to work in adverse weather conditions and work Saturdays/overtime when required
  • must have finger/hand dexterity, normal/corrected eyesight and the ability to distinguish color, and the ability to stand, walk, stoop, sit, climb and work on ladders, bend, grasp, work above head, and lift and carry up to 70 pounds
  • must have a valid Class E Missouri driver license
  • high school diploma or GED required, degree in related field and applicable experience preferred
  • residency in the GRM Networks service area and within 15 minutes of Bethany is preferred
