Director of Network Operations

GRM Networks is looking for a motivated telecom professional with experience in managing a broad fiber network for our Director of Network Operations position in Princeton, Missouri. Duties required of this position are varied, including, but not limited to: directing the daily activities of the network technicians in maintaining and upgrading the network of fiber optic transport systems; overseeing the maintenance of T-1, DS-3 and Ethernet circuits; planning for equipment needs due to service growth and replacement of aging equipment; scheduling routine maintenance with minimal impact on service; working with other departments to coordinate cutovers and splices, and to resolve customer issues; and other duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • must have knowledge of the telecommunications industry, operations, technology and equipment including skill in evaluating, testing and repairing telecom equipment
  • must understand and display skill with electricity, electronics, computers and trouble-shooting techniques
  • must be highly motivated and driven to provide extraordinary service to customers, co-workers and others
  • must possess good communication skills with the ability to communicate with the public and co-workers in a professional, positive and courteous manner
  • must demonstrate skills in leadership and management
  • must display skill in organizing and prioritizing multiple projects, paying close attention to detail, and making sound decisions in a timely manner
  • must be able to work in adverse weather conditions, work long hours/ weekends/after hours, and travel, as needed
  • must have appropriate hearing acuity and normal/corrected eyesight including the ability to distinguish color, and the ability to stand, walk, stoop, sit, climb, bend, grasp, kneel, work above head, and lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • must have or obtain a valid Class E Missouri driver license
  • high school diploma or equivalent required, plus one to three years specialized training or network construction/maintenance experience, with previous supervisory experience preferred
  • residency in the GRM Networks service area and within 15 minutes of Princeton is preferred
