We are looking for a dedicated and skilled Combination Technician to join our team and help us maintain and expand our network.
Job Summary: The Combination Technician will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, locating, and repair of fiber optic telecommunications systems. This role requires a versatile individual who can handle both fieldwork and customer service, ensuring our customers receive the best possible service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, locate, and repair fiber optic telecommunications systems.
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on network equipment.
- Troubleshoot and resolve network issues, ensuring minimal downtime for customers.
- Installation of company provided equipment. Lend expertise to configure customer premises equipment (CPE).
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing customer inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
- Collaborate with other technicians and departments to ensure seamless network operations.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Inclusion in a standard “on call” rotation.
- Adhere to safety protocols and company policies at all times.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in telecommunications or a related field is preferred.
- Proven experience in telecommunications, particularly with fiber optic systems.
- Strong technical skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex network issues.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Willingness to work in various weather conditions and rural environments.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including climbing ladders and working on poles.
