Network Technician

Premier Communications is seeking applicants for a full-time Network Technician in its Sioux Center, Iowa, location. 
 
This Network Technician position:
  • configures, installs, and maintains switches, routers, network interface devices (NIDs), and other core network equipment supporting internet, voice, and video services throughout Premier's service area.
  • builds and maintains Layer 2 and Layer 3 network configurations, including VLANs, routing, ACLs, and related network services, while assisting with service turn-ups, migrations, and equipment cutovers.
  • troubleshoots network outages, performance issues, and interoperability challenges across multiple vendors and platforms, working closely with the Network Operations Center (NOC), field teams, and Network Manager to restore service and maintain network reliability.
  • installs and supports equipment located in network huts, cabinets, central offices, and customer locations; maintains accurate documentation of network configurations, circuits, and system changes; and participates in an on-call rotation and scheduled maintenance activities as needed.
Entry to mid-level candidates are encouraged to apply. One to three years of networking, telecommunications, IT infrastructure, or related experience is preferred but not required. Working knowledge of networking concepts such as VLANs, IP addressing, routing, and switching is preferred. Relevant certifications, including CompTIA Network+ or Cisco CCNA, are beneficial but not required. An associate's or bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Networking, or a related field is a plus. A valid driver's license and acceptable driving record are required.
